On Independence Day, July 4, 2020, In This Together was launched as a platform to bring together individuals and organizations who realize that the only way to solve America's problems is through collective action.
It seems like America is at war with itself. Just witness the latest protest in Baltimore that toppled the statue of Christopher Columbus. Long after the Europeans discovered the existence of our continent, we declared ourselves America. We engaged in a war against the British to make America real; now we're asking existential questions about our history and our country.
While it may seem as if we're at war with ourselves, we're not nearly as divided as we think. We believe 7 out of 10 of can disagree - without fear and hate - and can work things out.
As a founder of In This Together, the vision and mission of Earthx reflect the our need to examine the underlying legacy of our democratic history.
"We are unwavering in support of the scientists, activists, storytellers, creators, filmmakers, educators, and youth, who are our environmentally conscious Sisters and Brothers of Color."
The climate crisis, pollution and lack of access to clean water and environment disproportionately impact communities of color. Racial and economic justice all tie into environmental issues – this is why EarthX supports the informed voice of peaceful protest.
EarthX remains committed to creating change and impact when it comes to Environmental Justice by showcasing speakers, panel discussions, films and emerging media that explore environmental science, conservation, and climate change.
"We believe in the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, creed, or income concerning the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies."
Tell us if and where you see yourself "in this together".
