Flint Residents: $600 Million Settlement Will Not Make Us Whole
"A proposed $600 million settlement cannot compensate for Flint's trauma." Over 2300 days since Flint residents has clean water, many of the pipes have not been replaced yet and there are multiple chronic illnesses and deaths caused by the poisoning of Flint's water.
MLive reports:
... "LaQueela Hudson, a mother of four, is not involved in the lawsuit but said money can’t ever make right what happened to children who will deal with the effects of lead water for the rest of their lives. Her son Jaylen, 7, has developmental issues she believes are related to the water.
Hudson believes to truly make things right, the people who caused the crisis should be held accountable
“I don’t think any amount of money is enough to compensate for the effects it has had on my children, especially my son,” Hudson said. “I believe the people who caused it or allowed it to happen should have to pay in some type of way. That’s justice. The money is not justice.”
